Some 150 miles south of Texas, where Mexico's Sierra Madres slope gently down to the Gulf Coast, lies the heart of white-wing dove and Bobwhite quail country. A region famous for some of the world's finest, wingshooting. "Ten-box hunts" are the norm here during a typical hunt, and at the center of this hunting mecca lies a wingshooter's oasis — Pintail lodge.
Thanks to a remote, isolated location, ideal weather conditions and ample amounts of grain. The bobwhite quail and whitewing mourning dove populations in northeastern Mexico have exploded. Quail numbers have grown annually and offer some of the world's most consistent wild quail hunting remaining on the continent. The hunting lodge is strategically located close to this immense concentration of birds and requires just a short journey to the fields. Every hunt is impeccably organized with reliable vehicles, a superb hunting staff and attention to details, such as daily scouting.
"Pintail Lodge is a professional operation which we would recommend to anyone looking for great wing shooting. We all agree - best driver, best food, best 'bird boys' ever."
